IPv6 Ready Logo Phase-1

Outline and Way Forward of the IPv6 Ready Logo Phase 1 Program

Following is to clearly outline the program and reviewed steps for the IPv6 community to work effectively with the IPv6 Ready program committee to obtain the silver logo:

Question (Only English language please!!): <ipv6-info@ipv6ready.org> or <ipv6ready-core@ipv6ready.org>
  1. Purpose of Phase 1 program
    Phase 1 is mainly for promotion of IPv6 implementation by the vendors. However, the condition to obtain the logo must be based on unique single standard, which is globally used.

  2. In order to obtain the logo, the applicant must fulfil and satisfy all the test items, that are specified by the logo committee as the Phase 1 test specification. The product must pass both self test and interoperability test. Interoperability test must be fullfilled along the test scenario described in the specification.
  3. Even when the applicant participated in the test event, such as Plugtest/Moonv6/UNH-IOL/TAHI, the product must satisfy all the test items. Instead of including the test log against the Phase 1 test specification defined by IPv6 Ready Logo committee in the application form, you can refer the participation of the particular event. Apparently, for this case, the the product must satisfies all the test specification.

  4. All the submitted applications will be examined by the technical experts at the IPv6 logo committee. When the submitted application is not compliant to the test specification, end-users can easily check this by using the self-test tools published on the IPv6 Ready Logo web site.

  5. Single application can include multiple (series) products, when these products are based essentially on the same hardware and software platform. Also, we provide for logo transfer to OEM products; just by stating the logo ID number of the original product that has already obtained the logo, the OEM product can receive the logo. However the committee is not liable for any infringements. Typical examples would be personal computer or router.

  6. Products that can obtain the logo are the following categories;

    (1) Host
    (2) Router
    (3) Operating System (e.g., Linux)
    (4) Protocol Stack
    (5) Special Devices (e.g., embedded system, special server, translator)
